Terence Lewis graces JASHAN 2011

Biography:

 

Reetu Patel , born on April 29, is the Artistic Director and Founder of MAD Bollywood Dance Company Inc. Reetu also owns and operates MAD Studios in Tustin, CA. Reetu started her venture into dance in the US during early 2007 teaching at a studio in Beaumont, CA and later the same year expanded her services to Riverside, CA, and continued till 2009 while completing Bachelors in Psychology.

The move to Orange County, CA was the best thing that happened to Reetu Patel. While still in school for her Masters in Clinical Physcology at Pepperdine University, Irvine, she had an epiphany, that she could be of more good to the community as a full time dance instructor. Dance is a way to express, a way to emote, a way to escape, a way to find comfort, a way to find peace, a way to find joy, and a way to find oneself.  Thus, was born M.A.D. Bollywood Dance Company under Reetu Patel

Reetu's insatiable hunger for more and more dance took her to India again to learn Indian contemporary form India's Best Terence Lewis, Bollywood Dance from Bollywood's best Saroj Khan, and Kathak, Indian Classical dance from the best, Natraj Gopikrishnaji School.

These experiences transformed Reetu into a child wanting more, and an instructor giving selflessly. Reetu awarded 4 scholarships to her students who were most promising in the art of Dance, in 2010. A new year-2011 brought new frontiers for Reetu Patel, who traveled to Vienna in July 2011 to advance her knowledge in dance. This was after her 2011 home production "White orchid" , a Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello, and Jashan--A Celebration. This year also scholarships were awarded to two deserving students.

Reetu continues to spread her wealth of dance knowledge where ever she travels. Dance teacher web & Expo--Las Vegas saw Reetu Patel doing what she does the best--provide dance instructions to the dance teachers and studio owners, that are fun and easy to comprehend.

Reetu Patel strongly believes that just like any classical dance, different styles in Bollywood Dance are equally dignified and should be learnt and followed with huge discipline.
